The third and final costume from "Something's Got to Give"

I love this simple sheath and coat ensemble.

It took me a while to find the fabric to make the sheath.

Owner of this outfit had the fabric hand painted to replicate the original dress.  It is incredible!  There was no way I would be able to paint flowers on fabric.

I used two different prints to make the sheaths.

I like this fabric the best.

"Something's Got to Give" Black and White Dress

You guys!  I am back!  I have several fashions that I finally finished and will be posting.

This dress was inspired by Marilyn Monroe's unfinished 1962 film "Something's Got to Give".

This black and white cotton print fabric is so dang close to the original fabric that I can't believe it.

Of course my Franklin Mint Marilyn had to have the dress made for her too.

I actually found two black and white floral prints that are a good match to the original dress.  The background of this print is slightly grey.

Tonner's Marilyn wanted in on the action too.  She is wearing Gene's dress.

I used the pictures of this pattern to help me figure out how to make the sarong style skirt.

The drawings of the pattern shapes can really come in handy.  I enlarged the front drape and altered it to fit my doll.
