I'm Just a Little Crazy

A few months ago, I wrote that I was done with my huge batch of red outfits that I started last year.  That might not been the complete truth.

While I was cutting out the "Dial M For Murder" red lace dresses last year, there were a lot of leftover scraps.  Since one of my sewing goals is to use up all my fabric, I decided to make a bunch of different cocktail dresses with red lace bodices.

 

I ended up with 35 bodices.

 

Some dresses got white chiffon skirts, some red ones, I also made some of the dresses with tulle skirts.  I ended up with 13 different styles by the time I was done.  I had fun finding 13 dolls and 13 pairs of red or white shoes for the group shot.

 

 

This is a different version of style H.

Even More Black Cocktailers

When I cut of the bottom of the pleated skirt that I used to make the "Rear Window" dress, I knew I had to make Gene a copy of DeeAnna's dress. Of course it's not exact, but Gene loves her version of DeeAnna's dress.

I cut the scalloped part off of some lace trim and sewed it to the bodice neckline.

"Twilight Girl" is wearing a dress made with the same lace bodice and a full circle chiffon skirt.







Here is the same bodice with a lace skirt. I think the shorter skirt gives it more of a late 50's early 60's look.

I wish I had used red flowers instead of pink ones.

Twilight Girl

Twilight Girl is the only convention centerpiece doll that I own. When I got the opportunity to purchase her I was a little ambivalent at first. I wasn't in love with her hair and outfit. One of my table mates convinced me to buy her and I am so glad.

The first year after I bought her she stayed dressed in her original clothes, but lately she had started modeling for me. I think she fits in the late 50's-early 60's era like Slender Threads does.
I really like her now.
