TDLM Jacques Fath Part II

We have been here before with this outfit, but I am finally finishing up my second attempt and pattern for this outfit.

This outfit was inspired by a 1945 Jacques Fath design form the Theatre de la Mode collection.

Molyneux Gingham Dress

This dress was inspired by a 1945 Molyneux design from the Theatre de la Mode collection.

I was lucky enough to find a beautiful black and white silk gingham.  I love how most of the dress is cut on the bias.

It took me a while to figure out how to make the straw hat block to shape the hat.  I had to get creative and ended up using a yogurt container, racket ball, and wash clothes.

Making straw hats is fun!

My models are "Hollywood Canteen" Marsha and my brand new "Palm Springs" Marsha.

Of course I had to see what the pattern would look like in a different fabric.

  

I love the results.

Lelong Chiffon Dresses

I have a hard time with moderation.  I made about 24 of these dresses.

This is another outfit that I originally made years ago that I decided to revisit.

I love this dress so much that I decided to see what it looked like with a pussy cat bow.

I loved the way they turned out.

I bought this cream floral chiffon at Mood Fabrics in NYC.  It ended up being a perfect match for this hat and purse set.

I ended up using up six different pieces of fabric.

TDLM Lucien Lelong

This is my most recent TDLM reproduction. It took me a while to find the fabric. I was so happy to find this beautiful silk chiffon. I wish I had bought more. It took me a while to figure out how to do the collar and cuffs. I ended up making two separate bodices and sandwiching the skirt between them. I was very pleased how it turned out.

TDLM Martial & Armond

This outfit was made out of a tan and black houndstooth. I changed the skirt to a straight skirt.
